After winning the toss, LAKR opted to bat first and seized early momentum. Andre Fletcher unleashed his aggressive flair from the outset, smashing the ball to all parts of the ground and dominating the WF attack. His blazing century marked the first-ever for an LAKR batter in MLC, firmly anchoring the innings. In the run-chase, LAKR struck crucial blows early, with Shadley van Schalkwyk removing Mitchell Owen to stem the initial flow. The spin duo of Tanveer Sangha and Ali Khan then delivered critical breakthroughs, halting Washington’s recovery at key moments. Despite a tense finish. where Washington edged closer, needing just seven off the final over, it was Russell’s spirited death‑ball heroics that kept LAKR in the contest till the very last delivery. Though the opposition ultimately crossed the line, LAKR’s bowlers stood tall and showcased their tenacity till the end.
