The Los Angeles Knight Riders commenced their MLC campaign by playing the historic first-ever game of Major League Cricket against the Texas Super Kings on a momentous night. Even though the result did not favour the Knights, there were plenty of positives on which LAKR would be focusing on and looking forward to the next game.

A new challenge awaits for the Knights as they take on a strong MI New York unit. LAKR looked a well-balanced side in their first game and had players standing up and taking responsibility in various phases of the game. Lockie Ferguson started it all, as he impressed with ball, picking up 2 crucial wickets for the side. Along with him, Ali Khan impressed one & all with his raw pace and searing yorkers. LAKR would be hoping that both of these bowlers will continue to perform at their full potential.

As far as they batting department is concerned, it was a rare off-day for Internationals stars like Guptill & Rossouw yet the likes of Jaskaran Malhotra impressed everyone with his six-hitting abilities, by scoring a quick-fire 22 runs of just 11 balls. Andre Russell stood up as he inevitably does for the Knights and scored a sensational half-century. Skipper Sunny mentioned that he was elated seeing Dre-Russ in that kind of form and would like for it to continue throughout the season .All in all, the Knights are on the way make a strong comeback in their next game and acquire their first win of the tournament
